Established in 1979, Hughes & Hughes Nursery is a family-owned and operated business located in Ash, North Carolina. For over four decades, we have been dedicated to providing homeowners, landscapers, and commercial developers throughout the Eastern United States with high-quality plants and exceptional service.
Our expansive 100-acre nursery boasts one of the largest selections of annuals, perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and trees in Brunswick County. We take pride in our diverse inventory, which includes both native and exotic species, carefully cultivated to thrive in various landscapes.

As Owner and Operator of the business for over 11 years, Matthew has a passion to carry on a family legacy started by his father, Bobby Hughes in 1979.

Lindsay joined our team in 2016, coming from a background in horticulture. She is an industry professional with over 28 years of experience. With a vast passion for growing and knowledge of the industry she is an asset to Hughes and Hughes.
Lindsay is a Certified North Carolina Plant Professional, Certified South Carolina Nursery Specialist, and Licensed Chemical Applicator.

Hayden, son of Matthew, has worked at the nursery since his father took over in 2014. A recent graduate of Clemson University (2025) with a degree in Business Management, Hayden oversees Nursery Operations.

Steve has spent over 15 years in the industry gaining experience with landscaping as well as plant and equipment management. Steve is a valuable asset to the business as he oversees Tree maintenance, digging, and production at our growing facility.
